Daniel O'Sullivan, late 19th century

Time’s passing by! As the only one, who survived the great famine of my family things really changed… I hope my brother in America is well. I just came back from a great meeting where we decided to not support Parnell and Gladstone any longer. After this sex-scandal nobody should trust them! Of course their idea with the home land bill was really good, and when they spoke before the house of parliament I really hoped it wouldn’t be defeated. Well, it naturally was and these traitors in Ulster celebrated it! Still, people who stand up for us in public should be aware of their role as an example for other and not being involved in a sex-scandal. I’m really disappointed. What’s that? My wife’s calling me, we have to say goodbye to my oldest daughter- she wants to marry one of this traitors in Ulster. He visited his uncle, who lives near our farm and now she’s in love with him. How dare she to even speak with such people? When he came to me and told me he wants to marry my daughter I said he could, of course, but only over my dead body! This people simply cause nothing than trouble. My wife is way too nice, she forced me to give them my blessing and let her go…  She’ll come back anyway as soon as she finds out how creepy the people up there in Ulster are!
